Have you ever noticed that we went from Windows 8 to Windows 10?

Posted

Micorsoft did not choose the number 9 for the latest version of their Operating System. You may be wondering "Why?".

This new and current version is a complete shift in paradigm unifying under one operating system all the devices, from computers and laptops to tablets and phones.

Veteran Microsoft journalist, Mary Jo Foley, sums up why Microsoft chose 10: "They wanted to signify that the coming Windows release would be the last major Windows update." while Microsoft's official stance, from Myerson is that "when you see the product in your fullness I think you'll agree with us that it's a more appropriate name".

Passing over the fact that others in the same time-frame are coming out with a version "10" of their operating systems, Microsoft is in this case setting a trend and making the software more easily available with a downloadable version accessible to all users. This simplifies all the recovery procedures and also the job of refurbishing computers.

Windows 10 offers a smooth user experience and can be installed also on older units showing good performances. lighter kernel and easy access to drivers directly from Windows Update requires less technical background. There are still some tricks and troubleshooting that can come into play, but a real change from the past versions.

The point of attention is the speed of application providers to be able to update and be compatible with this new operating system. The offer of a lot of cloud based solutions is making it easier to migrate to Windows 10.

We suggest to always complete a clean setup of the operating system instead of an upgrade and we are here to answer questions for our Customers to better understand how to create a great Windows 10 experience.
